A perfect savoury for tea time.
Puff pastry on the outside with delicious creamy chicken inside is perfect for when visitors appear, a great snack for kids and the best thing about these chicken puffs are you can make/assemble everything and freeze them. So when you need to bake them all you need to do is take them out of the freezer and pop them into the oven! And………ta daaa……..
Just to note, this is how you are meant to cut your puff pastry sheet…
- 500g chicken breast chopped into pieces
- 1 onion sliced
- 1 tablespoon garlic
- 1/2 tablespoon ginger
- 1 tablespoon cornflour
- handful coriander
- 2 sheets puff pastry
- Saute onions in oil till brown, add garlic, ginger and cook for about 2 minutes. Add the chicken breast, salt and pepper to taste and cook till fully cooked. Mix the cornflour in a little bit of water and add it to the chicken mixture, this will make it creamy. Add the coriander. Allow to cool.
- In the meantime cut the puff pastry sheets. Add the cooled mixture in the middle and bring the four corners to the top towards the middle and seal it properly. You may have chicken mixture left over so you can make more puffs by using another sheet of puff pastry.
- Bake at 180 degrees until slightly brown.
